The Shaman in the Amazon Jungle
In my chapter on psychedelics, I do discuss this incident and these shamans in the Amazon jungle because we were healers. They expected us to be equally adapted, healing ourselves and all the traumas and stresses that we deal with in our clients and patients. But they found out that they never worked as a heavy bunch of people as myself and my students you might say. For them it was quite a realization to see how poorly we are taking care of ourselves. It's all about trauma and yet nothing prepares us to either deal with our own or to keep ourselves clear of the stresses and traumas of others.
