The Masakani Project in Africa

The Masakani project started in 2019 when Jade Abbott and Laura Marchinas realized that there really weren't a lot of data sets to train AI in African languages. At the moment they have the estimated to have about 2000 volunteers from 30 different countries, all sort of working together to try to make AI be able to work on African languages.
