The Importance of Rebirth in Social Change
I feel like sometimes these traditions trade on the idea that it's just easier to just let it go than it is to enact social change. I think part of that just has to do with the broader metaphysical picture that they buy into, right? If you recognize that it's not just this life and there's things like a rebirth, then these are the imperative to radically alter this society in this life kind of goes away. But if everything is in some sense determined by your actions in your previous birth and you're going to have another birth, then I feel like there's less incentive to change things in the here and now.
