Buddhism is essentially in the buddhist view, a sort of what you you might say metaphysical utilitarianism. And so he occasionally will give it credit on that basis. In india, when buddhism emerges, and even prior to that, you have a general denial that there is actually a, you know, any value to be gained by chasing the en worldly success or a ambition or accomplishment in this life. That's how schopenhauer would regard indian society and culture based on his reading of the opanishads and the bagavagita.
