Father Gregory: St. Francis wanted to lead our desires for life of devotion, a life of holiness, etc. to actuality. He says in order to do this there are two things that we ought to be concerned with first ourselves and then in a way with others. Father Gregory: We see St. Francis's sales sensibility when it comes to spiritual matters. The Christian tradition isn't scandalized by the fact that we aren't yet perfect, he says.
