Training for a Half Marathon - Is There a Variety of Workouts?

i consider myself more of an arobic style type of runner, based on our conversation. What are the types of workouts that i should probably avoid if i don't want to get overtrained or burned out from too much intensity? Is it like the longer, v o, two max oriented type of workouts? Or is it, say, for example, what jack daniels might call a rep workout or an r workout? Those shorter reps where you're running maybe five k ps, but probably a lot faster than that, but the reps are really short. They'll kill you once.
