LGV and Proctocolitis

LGV commonly presents as proctocolitis and can mimic IBD. We need to have it on a differential diagnosis for rectal pain. If untreated, it can ultimately lead to phishulism structures. Patients at risk of inoculation around the peri-anil or rectal area with STIs such as men having sex with men may have LGV that mimics inflammatory bowel disease.
