If you're not certain that there is no black hat who can potentially man in the middle of your traffic, then you should be initiating a wire guard connection to a raw IP address. And if you're doing that, there's not really any way to beat that from the attacker side. Either you'll connect or it won't. If it doesn't, then your internet doesn't work. In info sec terms, that guy's already sitting your mama's kitchen eating her cookies. Well, you know, like unless you're certain that a blackhand can't, it's like so just always because if you'recertain that a black hand can't something, then you're wrong.
