What's Next for CRISPR?
The CRISPR off as it is, works very nicely to silence. There's a number of directions that one might want to go. We'd like to make a protein version of this because it would be most elegant if you never introduced a foreign DNA. And we'd like to improve the RNA delivery and take advantage of all the advances in LNP technology. The endogenous retroviral system is only one system for silencing genes. They sell as many different systems and so we think that's going to be a great reservoir for new types of epigenetic modifiers.
