The Role of Light in Consciousness

The light is just kind of the most important signal in regulating all these circadian rhythms and the body itself or the organs and every cell, it has their own circadian clock that is controlled by the like the master clock inside the brain. The state of being awake requires energy and whether the energy is coming directly from the sun or from our food, it is still coming from the sun in an indirect or direct way. I believe that the animals that are awake during the day and diurnal, at least humans in particular have this capacity to be significantly more complex because we are exposed to the full spectrum of the light of the sun which allows us to basically take advantage of more of the energy and the environment
