Filming in the New York Tunnel System
Amy Brennamom was someone that Rob Cohen had seen on the television show NYPD Blue but at the time she was shooting the film Heat for Michael Mann which we covered just a few episodes ago on this podcast. The movie oddly enough ended up in Rome or perhaps less oddly because Cinacita studios in Rome was where they had the flexibility to build the tunnel set of the movie that would run to a third of a mile long as Cohen had previously explained. There's some miniature effects work that you see in the midst of the film particularly explosion sequences let's say that and Cohen admitted coming to the set with a little bit of trepidation about working with Sylvester Stallone
