Episode #158: Hannah Went: How to Turn Back The Clock On Biological Aging

LONGEVITY with Nathalie Niddam

00:00

The Dunedin Pace of Aging

The Dunedin pace of aging is how quickly you are aging biologically for every one chronological year. It was created from a birth cohort that began in 1972 and 1973 in Dunedin, New Zealand. There's 1,037 people in this birth cohort, 96% retention rate. The group's 52, 52 years old today. So very fascinating kind of group of people. They're just looking at how this group is aging. At four different points in their life, they took all of these multiple system biomarkers. This whole panel of everything you would ever want tested on you. And the outcome, like you said, Natalie, is between 0.6 and 1.4.
