The Proportionality of Internet Shutdowns
Under the current law, we have the IT Act in place. According to that, the proportionality can be judged and whether it is really necessary or not. And when we say proportionate, the intensity of shutdown, for example, it has to be only region-by-regional based. So, accordingly, we have those blocking guidelines. Likewise, in the Telegraph Act, we have, you know, Section 7 and various rules like the temporary suspension of telecom services.
