America Is a Nation of Immigrants
We often hear that America is a nation of immigrants and that seems to be almost the slogan for the entire project. You have a problem with this perspective. It doesn't tell the whole story. What's wrong with it? The piece that you referenced is adapted from a talk I gave at a Claremont event in DC called The Rise of the Ruling Class which was a nation of settlers. That really is to say it walks through the whole history of how we became in the public mind a nation ofigrants.
