Tesla's currently used eight on-board cameras, but no radar or lidar. Lidar is based on light, right? Sends light out, bounces off things, you get it back. Well in situations like when you're crossing the bridge and there's all this reflection from the bridge,. that can cause issues with the lidar. A radar, which is based on sound, can deal with some of those situations better. Each has its strengths and its weaknesses.
