Creating Habits Is a Neural Pathway
Every time we participate in impulse bying, we are reinforcing that neural pathway associated with the behavior. Think of habit formation as sletting. And then remember also the paradox here, which is behaviors that promote instant gratification are almost always unhealthy behaviors. That means that quick fixes are almost never what's best for us. What's healthy for us are quick fix purchases. Ever what often, or ever, what we truly need and are truly going to love on, is staying up late and watching bravo and eating ice cream. The next morning, delayed gratification is never sexy, never glamorous, never fun. Quick fixes, however, almost always are.
