The decatal survey said that we have three priority science areas for the future. One of those is worlds and suns, looking at all the exo planets that we have now discovered throughout our neighborhood of the galaxy. To do that, you need a very large, ube optical, infared telescope for space. And they also say, oh, and by the way, this telescope also must be capable of doing terrific, revolutionary astrophysics as well.
