Is There a Career Ladder?

A career is a very 21st century idea. It's a 21st century relationship to work. There are some careers where, if you miss a step, you can't make it up the next rung of the ladder. I do believe in the process of choice and that you are crafting a vision for what it's gonna look like. In some places, you can have a much more varied career and do a bunch of things and be in a bunch of different places.
