The placebo effect is the most reliable effect in all of pharmacology or medicine, right? If you could bottle it, you would have a panacea. The mechanism that this thing is working on is not what's being claimed. And I'm definitely not sure when there is a slippery slope down toward believing things which stop you gaining some of the benefits of expectation effect and actually cause you to believe other silly people.
