Finding Mentors and Learning on Your Own

I see a big mistake that lots of young filmmakers make is they go up to somebody and say, bro, let me do something for you. And the problem with that is such a big turn off. You have to come at whatever it is you're passionate about from a place of service. Put your foot in the door in terms of getting the attention of someone who has the skills that you would like to learn from. Assume that you're not the only person asking to work with that person that day. Please.
