The banjo is an African instrument. It travels here with enslaved people refined, by the way, through all of the cultural exchange with Native American people,. Mexican people, indigenous people that were already here. So there's a reason why it sounds so much like Tejano music. And I think why that music still resonates so much around the world with those people.
