Most of those who are eligible, such as health and social care workers, people age 50 and over. They're being offered a combined shot targeting both the original COVID-19 variant and the BA1 Omercon variant. Is it time for us to think again about putting our masks back on or thinking about testing and ventilation again? Do we need to get into that kind of habit? We do know that masks work. The better masks, especially if you fit them properly and don't leave gaps around the side or up by your nose will actually greatly reduce your likelihood of picking it up.
As the UK heads into autumn, Covid-19 appears to be surging again. According to official data, 40,650 people tested positive in England in the seven days up to and including 24 September.
