Is There a Genetic Link for Depression?

If a person is depressed, it's going to be because there's something different about their brain. Most people that end up with a diagnosis of depression originally are seen by physicians because they're complaining of sleep problems. The concordance rate for depression between identical twins is around 45%. Now that's interesting because it says that 55% are discordant. So you probably in all likelihood inherit genes that confer risk.
