The Importance of Studying Chinese
In the 1980s when I told my father that I wanted to go to college to study Chinese history he said Japan maybe. So from the get-go I learned that studying Chinese was going to be a lifetime project and not an easy one for me but to me studying Chinese was an integral part of what I wanted to do which was study China. He also helped develop a computer program to help you learn Chinese via computer rather than just traditional paper method at the time.
