The Importance of Having Friends
Bass is almost a calling card to be like, Hey man, do you want to hang out? I play bass. It sort of makes you immediately more of a sociable type in my mind. The kind of bass player that plays by themselves slaps. They excite themselves with the slaps out. And that means that they are good on accompaniment, you know? Victor Routins, you know. But at the same time, it does seem lonely. You kind of just go down that journey by yourself when you start slapping.
