Girls Get Traded Differently to Boys
I was aware that boys sort of didn't like girls that were too clever and I was considered to be clever, you see. It mattered more to me that I had my father's approval at some points, and I also had great teachers. My mother wanted me to become a school teacher - very much the aim in that time in the 60s. But I also wanted to flee the coup. I just had this desire to sort of see the world, and so I went down to study in London.
