Munich is a violent place, and Hitler feels the only way to get through to some people is to put a fist through their face. The SA fought with knuckle dusters, trunches, beer glasses, daggers and pistols. It can be very, very difficult to determine from the historical record where their SA men had an eager and deep ideological conviction about Nazis or what they're doing reflects more masculine thrills of violence and comradeship.
