But in every single one of the points, you're going to hear the words, Just For You. Here's why. Because I believe this revelation is just for you. The creator of the universe created you and set many things aside just for you and nobody else. All right. So we're going to be walking through the story of Esther. And I'm going to be reading a lot of scripture, which our team here who does all of the editing and producing, probably not going to enjoy seeing all these verses because we're going through like half the book of Esther. Grab your Bible if you want to. You can follow along. I'll be reading Esther in the New Living Translation. All right. Esther chapter one, starting in verse 10, is where we're going to start. So you can go ahead and grab your Bible and turn to there. And here's the first of the 10 points. All right. If we're going to talk about these things, which are just for you, I'm going right into the deep end of the pool. I could have made this the tent thing, but because it's my favorite thing, we are starting right here in point number one. God has a seat just for you. Now you're going to tell really quickly, I'm going to do my, I'm just going to prophesy through this entire episode. I'll probably be way too riled up, which I already am. Here's why. Because I love you. Because I love you. And I know some of you are being picked on. All right? Esther chapter 1, verse 10. On the seventh day of the feast, when King Xerxes was in high spirits, because of the wine, he told the seven eunuchs who attended him. Mahuman, Biztha, Harbunah, Bigtha, Abigtha, Zether, and Carcass. No idea if I just said those correctly, probably didn't. Verse 11. He asked the eunuchs to bring Queen Vashti to him with the royal crown on her head. He wanted the nobles and all the other men to gaze on her beauty, for she was a very beautiful woman. Okay, here's what's awesome about starting this entire conversation about God having a seat just for you, because I'm actually walking through the story of Esther's seat. Now I want you to imagine, the book of Esther is about whom? That's right, Esther. It's not about Vashti. I want you to imagine for a moment. I know I'm presupposing, but I want you just to imagine. What if Esther from a very young age had a sense that the call in her life was to one day be queen? What if she grew up as a teenager, as a 12-year being in rooms where she would be reminded and hear the voice of the Lord just whisper to her,
Speaker 2
What if she knew that was the call? Well, here's what we know. The problem with the verses I just read you, someone else is in Esther's seat.
Speaker 1
If Esther is to be queen, Esther's story starts off with who as queen? Vashti. Someone else. There is someone else in Esther's seat. Listen to me. If you struggle with comparison, you're not going to be confident in this first point until we probably get to like the ninth or tenth point. But let me try and walk it out for you outside of Esther, but still within scripture. Ephesians chapter two, verse 10 says, for we, you are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Okay, how far back is beforehand? Here's how far beforehand is, before the foundation of the earth. Scripture talks about that before the foundation of the earth, Jesus was the plan to redeem mankind. The Father set the Son as the plan before the foundations of the earth, the Bible says. Okay, I don't believe that's the only thing. He did that early on. He knows the end from the beginning. Before the beginning. How about Jeremiah? Remember what God says to Jeremiah? Chapter 1, verse five, he says, Jeremiah, I knew you before I even formed you in your mother's womb. This is beautiful talk right here. Before you were ever even born, Jeremiah, watch this. He tells him to see, I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. This is how God works. Now, you might not be confident that God has set a seat aside for you, which no one else is allowed to sit in. And trust me, we're about to get to, wait a minute, Vashti was sitting in Esther's seat. We're going to get to that. Don't worry. But if you're someone who doesn't actually have confidence that God has set aside a seat for you, okay, I'll personalize it for me. I knew at 18 years old that God had set aside a seat for me to pastor a church. Didn't know it was going to be called Pillar in Scottsdale, Arizona. I knew it at 18. At 13, I knew God had set aside a seat for me to pastor a church. I just didn't know it was in Scottsdale, Arizona. That I learned at 17, 18. As I grew up, I became more aware there was a very specific seat God had created me to sit. Now, here's how you have to think. You can't think of it from an insecure or proud-ish perspective or standpoint. If God set the seat aside for me, no one else is going to be allowed to sit there when it's my time to sit there. Don't worry, we're going to get to that. But I want to give you the picture the Lord gave me in my early days in ministry when I was overwhelmed with comparison. I felt the Lord paint this picture of the busiest, most popping restaurant, expensive restaurant in the city. And it was so popping that if you wanted to dine there, you had to have a reservation multiple years in advance. This place was popping. And I wander in. I wasn't trying to get in. I just wander in almost like I don't even know what's going on. And I look around. I realize, wow, this is really special. I go to the hostess. I say, I'd like a table. And the hostess laughs and says, wouldn't everyone? And she said, do you have a reservation? And I said, do I need one? And she's laughing and she says, I'm sorry, sir. You're not going to be able to dine with us this evening. I said, do I have to have a reservation? She said, sir, people have to have a reservation years in advance to dine with us. What is your name? And
Speaker 2
I said, Preston Morrison. And the hostess looks through this deal and her
