The Importance of Reparations in Light of the Enslavement Legacy

Some churches, the Catholic Church in North America, some of the diocese have set up huge funds to pay reparation for their involvement in the slavery business. Do you think that's a fair model for the USPG to be working with in terms of reparations seeking to do financial justice? I would be hesitant to reduce reparations to just the financial side of things. It is essential but it is not the whole picture because the reduction of a free people to slaves there can be no price that can be put on that. Despite apologies they have failed to make any dramatic steps towards atonement and justice.
