i wonderf whether it might have perverse consequences in a diferent circumstance. So i'm thinking of somebody like my friend thomas satterton williams, who believes that we should be race abolitionists. And so i wonder whether, under similar circumstances, this judge would need to rule by the same set of standards, that thomas does not count as black, nor perhaps bets. That is very interesting. It's a very ingenious way of side stepping what the obvious lurking danger hes, which is the state reverting to sumhficial determination of blackness.
