The Importance of Timed Tests

Here in Britain, kids are now tested from a very young age. They have to answer certain questions in a certain amount of time and it's a way of measuring what progress they're making. In fact we know that timed tests actually inhibit the brain from working. If you need to recall maths facts, you need your working memory. The worst thing we can do with little kids is give them timed math tests.
