When inflation is lower than the year before, the S&P 500 gained 12.6% on average. When inflation is higher, it's only up about 5.8%. The Fed wants to see inflation down near 2%. So there's no clock running on inflation. Any deviation from that 50 basis point hike would be a serious surprise.
