The Out of Body Experience Is Not Evidence of Immateriality

People have been reporting things like out of body experiences and interpreting them as evidence that the soul must have an immaterial basis. That, of course, is totally wrong headed thinking. It's just evidence that there are certain conditions under which the brain makes a very unusual best guess about where the first person' perspective is im. This also helps us understand other aspects of conscious selfhood. For instance, we can think of emotions as also kinds of perceptions based on exactly the same principles. We all notice we tend to feel anxiety often in our finger tips or somewhere. And their pride in our heads, of course.
