The Peloponnesian War: A History of Sparta
The Great Persian War ended in 478 BC, nearly four decades before Ajis Elias' birth. The conflict that marked his coming of age was instead the greater, longer, bloodier war that Sparta fought against Athens. It broke out in 431 BC when Ajis Elias was around 13 years old. His father, King Archidamus, opposed the war but dutifully led the Peloponnesian League's army into Athenian territory.
