From the Aleutian Islands to New Zealand, across the blue Pacific to Hawaii and back. The roof of the world itself is populated with nature spirits. Zaz and Lu and Mo are Tibetans' names for them; so is the Amazon Basin,. So is the Jordan River, and so is the Congo. All across the world for all time. South to north, low to high. It's no accident when Greek writing appears on the scene we find first and foremost descriptions of an animate sentient world. This is why indigenous activist Russell Means said neither Marxism nor capitalism nor science have any resonance with him.
