Is the Motion of Planets as Complex as the Night Sky It Represents?
If a substantial amount of computation would be required to give us the illusion that a certain entity is real, then that entity is real. If you're trying to assert that what external reality appears to be isn't actually real, but rather it's an illusion,. It's a dream, it's a deception by a demon or a god or something like that. So yes, this is the point. Realism is just all of that simulation without the needless extra assumption that it's all a simulation.
