Oppenheimer's Life in the USSR
In the 1930s Oppenheimer was head of the most secret Laboratory of World War two. He surrounded himself with student radicals who worked on fission research by day and met secretly with Soviet spies by night. The military still viewed him as a huge security risk so they refused to grant him a security clearance for work at the Manhattan Project. Despite his confidence in Oppenheimer Groves felt duty-bound to investigate the physicist's ties to communism but ended up making both men look bad.
