In the future, we might not be listening to pre recorded pop music. We'll all have little devices or apps that will just start generating music for us on the fly. The equivalent of chat GPT, but for music where you just say, just play some sort of funk music, but kind of slow and atmospheric with no singing and no saxophone. And it'll just generate the music for you. I mean, we're almost there with Eno's stuff. He's got computer programs where you exactly how I said, you know, he say, okay, I want to, I don't want any harsh notes. I want sort of very harmonious collection of notes. Yeah
A conversation with my brother about a specific musical genre, "ambient". We discuss Brian Eno's inspiration and approach to his first ambient albums, talk about the genre's origins in French 19th century classical music, jazz and the avant-garde and describe ambient trance music from the 80s and 90s including artists like Aphex Twin, The KLF, The Orb and The Irresistible Force. Enter the ambient zone on LEP.
