Is It Really Going to Matter?

I think there's two different things going on here. One is this tendency towards autarkic ideas, which is we need to be self-sufficient. The other is the slower one of what type of global system you encourage through increased subsidies. This feels like a remarkable escalation in that feud. And I can't help but think the world is a poor place because we're all going to be island nations.
