The Syntax of Mother Ease

iReporter: We talked on a show not long ago about the concept of mother ease. This this notion that parents and other people talk to kids will often simplify aspects of their speech stream. Lila glitman was really well versed in the details of linguistic theory, and spent a lot of time thinking about how kids use their emerging knowledge of the syntax of language. She called this process syntactic boot strapping. Some really beautiful work.
