Garcia is the son of Cuban exiles. His family really benefited from what was a Cold War era policy where Cubans who were fleeing the Castro regime in the aftermath of the revolution there were allowed to come to the country and very quickly get citizenship. "I try not to make it a naive view on immigration, but in general, I think that the US has a particular genius for absorbing talent," he says.
