Neil Legorio's Journey to Freedom
Neil Legorio was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease at the age of 40. The condition has left him unable to work or walk on his own. To cope, he built a series of 'puppets' that allowed him to move without help. He wore harnesses around his wrists, neck, torso and legs for support. When it was all done, I pulled him through his first jerky standing motions. It was the first time I had seen Neil smile in years.
