The Life and Times of Black Elk
In 1886, Black Elk signed up with a Western showman named William Frederick Cody. Buffalo Bill's Wild West traveled all over the United States and went to other countries as well. As a performer, Black Elk would participate in various reenactments of scenes from the American West. In England, he was one of just five Lakotas chosen to dance at a command performance for Queen Victoria.
