I think there's nothing wrong with those from a variety point of view of people. I've used them in the past for that exact purpose if I just want to go in do a workout and get out again in 20 minutes. They're probably not anymore affected than just doing a couple of straight sets where you're doing like John really liked to. He was that old school mentality of like the harder you train the more muscle you're going to grow.
