What's the Point of a Lure Lock?
If you were to just not clamp it. and then take that off, what it actually does is it creates a little bit of negative pressure which will pull the tiniest amount of blood up into the distal end of that catheter. And so as long as you clamp, whatever happens on the lure locks side of things, then when that little plunger comes back, you're saying it won't be able to pull that blood in because that clamp is in the way. But yeah, by doing that, you assure it's not happening inside the lumen. It's just happening, you know, the natural process on the outside, which doesn't affect the line and the potency
