descarte is heavily criticised for his creation of the idea of objective versus formal reality. Many people wonder why there even needs to be a distinction, and what basis he has for making this distinction in the first place. On that same note, another common objection is that it's a huge logical leap to arbitrarily say that beings with finite formal reality cannot possibly conceive of something with infinite objective reality. And why is that necessarily an impossibility?
