How to Celebrate Your Birthday Early
I knew that Maddie was so close to death, Jamie, that doctors suggested you celebrate his birthday early. So we held off and they did everything they could medically at Children's in DC to save him. They worked on treating him spiritually and emotionally to try and keep them going also. Because do you ever get down sometimes? Yes. But usually I'll write some poetry, I'll talk to my mom about it, and I'll get through the life storm, and then I'll celebrate. You will.
