The Aesthetic Mediates Freedom

Schiller says our ability to engage with the sensual in the world through reason is mediated by the aesthetic. He does make it sound like this process, though. The aesthetic mediates this movement to freedom by way it detached observation. With beauty, we get this kind of contemplative act without quitting the sensual world.
