The Role of Skeletal Proportions in Osteoarthritis

We found that there was locality of disease with specific skeletal proportions. That is increased femur to height ratio or an increased tibia to height ratio and an increased tibiofamoral angle all related to the knee joint. They were associated with increased risk of knee osteoarthritis and knee pain. Additionally, we found that increases in hip width to height proportion were also associated with hip oA and hip pain.
