The Importance of Percussion in a Band
Percussion is often seen as quite a, almost a side role, quite an auxiliary role, not very essential, but it is very essential actually. I always said like it can make the difference between a regular band and one that sounds special because suddenly you have sounds that are like, wait, where it's going from? Nowadays everybody's having little samplers in the band and adding some samplers and stuff like this. So if you're playing samples from a pad, it's always a bit more sad than if you've got that crazy wooden clap thing you have - which is also a really cool visual object.
